In our first year (2025), The Black Laughter Collective blossomed into a beautiful, funny, silly, creative community of Black women having the fun we deserve. Some for what felt like the first time, and others reignited creative sparks.

We Hosted

  • 9 improv sessions

  • 3 local and global brand collaborations, such as Aloft Hotels

  • 50+ Black women

  • Countless laughs, out-of-this-world performances, and limitless creativity

The numbers matter. But what matters most is what we’ve built together: a space where Black women can show up fully and leave lighter than they arrived.

Where We Are Now

We host:

  • Frequent in-person improv sessions in Mexico

  • Virtual improv happy hours for expanded connection

  • Tours and pop-up improv jam sessions

All sessions are free. Donations are accepted but not required. Community and creativity are the priorities.

Where We’re Going

As we grow, so will the ways to gather and sustain this work.

The Black Laughter Collective exists because Black women deserve more than survival. We deserve joy as a practice. Play as healing. Laughter as freedom.
